Adding Domains

Adding domains in WHMCS allows you to offer domain registration services to your clients. Here are the steps to add domains in WHMCS:

  1. Login to WHMCS:

    • Log in to your WHMCS administrator dashboard using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to Products/Services:

    • From the main menu, go to "Setup" > "Products/Services" or "Products/Services > Domain Registrars."
  3. Set Up a Domain Registrar (if not already done):

    • If you haven't set up a domain registrar yet, you'll need to do so. This involves integrating WHMCS with a domain registrar API (e.g., Enom, ResellerClub, etc.). Follow the instructions provided by your chosen domain registrar to set up the integration.
  4. Add a New Domain:

    • After setting up a domain registrar, you can start adding domains. Click on "Create a New Domain" or a similar option.
  5. Configure Domain Details:

    • Domain Registrar: Select the registrar you integrated earlier.

    • Domain Name: Enter the domain name.

    • TLD Extension: Choose the top-level domain extension (e.g., .com, .net, .org, etc.).

    • Registration Period: Select the number of years for which the domain will be registered.

    • Client: Choose the client to whom this domain will be associated. If the client doesn't exist yet, you can add them at this stage.

    • Auto Renew: Set whether the domain should be set to auto-renew.

    • Payment Type: Select the payment type (e.g., Free, One Time, Recurring).

    • Pricing: Set the pricing for the domain registration.

    • Registration Date: Enter the date when the domain was registered.

    • Expiration Date: Enter the date when the domain will expire.

    • Status: Set the status of the domain (e.g., Active, Pending, Expired).

  6. Save Changes:

    • Click "Save Changes" to save the domain details.
  7. Set Up Pricing:

    • Define the pricing options for domain registration, including setup fees, recurring fees, billing cycles, etc.
  8. Configure Domain Registrar Settings:

    • Navigate to "Domain Registrars" and configure any specific settings for your chosen registrar (e.g., API credentials).
  9. Activate Domain:

    • If you're ready to offer this domain for registration, make sure it's set to "Active" in the domain settings.
  10. Test the Domain Registration Process:

    • Perform a test domain registration to ensure that the process works smoothly and that the domain is correctly registered with your chosen registrar.

That's it! You've successfully added a new domain in WHMCS. Clients can now purchase and manage this domain through their client portal. Always double-check that the domain registration process is functioning correctly before making it available to clients.
