Payment Capture Settings

WHMCS provides options for configuring payment capture settings to manage how payments are processed. Here's how you can set up payment capture settings in WHMCS:

  1. Log into WHMCS: Access your WHMCS admin panel using your username and password.

  2. Navigate to Configuration: Click on the "Configuration" tab in the top navigation menu.

  3. Payment Gateways: Under the "System Settings" section, click on "Payment Gateways."

  4. Select Payment Gateway: Choose the payment gateway for which you want to configure the capture settings. Click on the name of the payment gateway you wish to edit.

  5. Configure Capture Settings: Depending on the specific payment gateway, the capture settings will vary. Here are some common options you may find:

    • Auto Capture: Some gateways allow you to choose whether payments are automatically captured (settled) when the order is placed or if they should be manually captured later. This is useful for gateways that support pre-authorization.

    • Capture Mode: If you have selected "Manual Capture," you may have the option to select a capture mode (e.g., "Capture Authorized Payments" or "Capture Partial Payments").

    • Capture Immediately: If this option is selected, payments will be captured as soon as the order is placed.

    • Capture Days: Set the number of days after which payments should be automatically captured. This is applicable for gateways that support delayed capture.

    • Capture on Invoice Due Date: Some gateways allow you to automatically capture payments on the invoice due date.

  6. Save Changes: After configuring the capture settings, click the "Save Changes" button to apply your modifications.

  7. Test Transactions: It's a good practice to perform test transactions to ensure that payments are being captured according to your configured settings.

  8. Repeat for Other Payment Gateways (if needed): If you have multiple payment gateways set up, repeat the above steps for each one.

Remember to carefully review the documentation provided by your chosen payment gateway, as specific settings and options may vary between different gateways. Additionally, always inform your clients about your payment capture policies to avoid any misunderstandings.
