Creating Custom Templates

Creating custom email templates in WHMCS allows you to tailor your communications to your specific branding and needs. Here's how you can create custom email templates:

  1. Log into WHMCS:

Access your WHMCS admin panel using your administrator credentials.

  2. Navigate to Email Templates:

    • Go to "Setup" > "Email Templates."
  3. Create New Email Template:

    • Click on the "Create New" button.
  4. Enter Template Name:

    • Provide a descriptive name for your custom email template. This name will be used for internal reference.
  5. Choose Template Type:

    • Select whether the template is for "General Messages" (e.g., Announcements, Account Suspensions) or "Product Messages" (e.g., Welcome Email, Invoice Notification).
  6. Template Subject:

    • Enter the subject of the email. This is what recipients will see as the subject line.
  7. Template Body:

    • Use the HTML editor to create the body of the email. You can add text, images, and links, and use variables to dynamically insert information.
  8. Variables:

    • WHMCS provides variables that you can include in your email templates to dynamically insert information like client names, invoice details, etc. Use the provided variables where needed.
  9. Save Changes:

    • Once you have created the template, click on the "Save Changes" button.
  10. Customize for Different Languages:

    • If your WHMCS installation is set up for multiple languages, you can customize the email templates for each language by selecting the appropriate language from the dropdown menu.
  11. Override Default Email Templates:

    • If you want to override the default WHMCS email templates with your custom versions, you can do so by placing customized email templates in the "email" folder within your WHMCS template directory.
  12. Testing Email Templates:

    • You can send test emails to yourself or other addresses to see how they will appear to clients.

By creating custom email templates, you have the flexibility to design and tailor your email communications to match your branding and meet your specific communication needs. This can help ensure that your emails are clear and professional, and provide relevant information to your clients and administrators.
