How to install Cloudlinux on Ubuntu

CloudLinux is an operating system that is specifically optimized for shared hosting providers. It is based on the CentOS operating system, which is itself a derivative of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). CloudLinux is not compatible with Ubuntu, as it is a completely different operating system and is not based on the Debian architecture like Ubuntu.

If you want to use CloudLinux, you will need to perform a fresh installation of it on a compatible server or virtual machine. You cannot install CloudLinux on an existing Ubuntu server, as they are fundamentally different operating systems with different package management systems, file system layouts, and other core components.

Here are the basic steps you would follow to install CloudLinux:

  1. Purchase CloudLinux: First, you will need to purchase a CloudLinux license from the CloudLinux website.

  2. Download CloudLinux: After purchasing a license, you will be given access to download the CloudLinux ISO image from the CloudLinux website.

  3. Create Bootable Media: Burn the downloaded ISO image to a DVD or create a bootable USB drive.

  4. Install CloudLinux: Boot your server or virtual machine from the CloudLinux installation media and follow the on-screen prompts to install CloudLinux.

  5. Register and Activate CloudLinux: After installation, you will need to register your server and activate your CloudLinux license.

Again, note that this process will not work on a machine that is currently running Ubuntu or any other non-RHEL-based operating system, as CloudLinux is specifically designed to work with RHEL and CentOS systems.
